When is the best time to visit?
The best time to visit and enjoy this tour package is during Peru’s dry season, which runs from April to October.
April to October (Dry Season)
Ideal Weather: This period offers the most stable weather conditions for outdoor activities like hiking and ATV riding. You’ll experience clear skies, mild temperatures, and less rainfall, making it the perfect time to visit Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley, and Rainbow Mountain.
Short Inca Trail & Hiking: The dry season ensures the Inca Trail is not muddy or slippery, making it easier and safer to hike. The higher altitude of Rainbow Mountain is also more comfortable to visit without the added risk of heavy rain or fog.
Stunning Views: The clear weather provides unobstructed views of the stunning Andean landscapes and Machu Picchu, as well as the colorful mineral deposits at Rainbow Mountain.
Peak Tourist Season: May to October is the high season for tourism in Peru, so expect more tourists, especially at popular sites like Machu Picchu. Be sure to book permits and tickets in advance, particularly for the Short Inca Trail.
November to March (Rainy Season)
Lush Landscapes: While this period brings more rainfall, it also makes the landscape lush and green, providing a different kind of beauty. However, the wet weather can make the Inca Trail and Rainbow Mountain ATV ride more challenging due to slippery and muddy paths.
Fewer Crowds: The rainy season tends to have fewer tourists, which means you’ll experience less crowded sites and more solitude during your trip.
Risk of Rain & Cloud Cover: Rain is more common during these months, and cloud cover can obscure the views of Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain, potentially limiting your experience.
