When is the best time to visit?

The peak season is April through October when skies are clear and the Andes are most vibrant. Unlike the Inca Trail, this tour is available year-round, though January and February are the peak of the rainy season.

How do I book permits?

Machu Picchu permits are strictly limited by time slots. We recommend booking 3–4 months in advance for peak dates to ensure we can secure the early morning entry times that avoid the largest crowds.

Do I need my physical passport?

Yes. You must bring the original passport used for your booking. It is required for the train, the bus, and the Machu Picchu entrance. Copies or digital photos are not legally accepted at government checkpoints.

What is the 2026 Circuit Regulation?

For the 2-Day Fast Track, we prioritize Circuit 2 (The Classic Route), which includes the iconic Guardian House panoramic view. If you wish to add a climb like Huayna Picchu, you will move to Circuit 3, which focuses on the lower temples. Let us know your preference at booking!

How fit do I need to be?

This tour is accessible to most travelers. While there is no long-distance trekking, you will be walking on uneven Inca stonework and climbing steep stairs in Pisac and Ollantaytambo. Comfortable mobility is required.

How do I handle the altitude?

Acclimatization is essential. We recommend arriving in Cusco (3,399m) at least 2 days before your tour. Because this tour descends into the Sacred Valley (2,800m), many find it easier to breathe here than in Cusco!

Is there an age limit?

There is no official limit. This is our most popular family-friendly tour, perfect for children aged 6+ and active seniors who want to experience the majesty of the Andes without an overnight trek.

What should I wear?

Layers are your best friend. The Sacred Valley can be hot and sunny, while Machu Picchu’s cloud forest is humid and prone to sudden rain. Bring a sun hat, a waterproof shell, and sturdy walking shoes with good grip.

Who carries my luggage?

You only need a daypack for this trip. You will leave your main luggage at your hotel in Cusco. The trains to Aguas Calientes have a carry-on limit of 5kg/11lb per person, so travel light with just your essentials for the overnight stay.

What are the facilities like?

High-quality restrooms are available at all major archaeological sites and at the train stations. Unlike the remote trekking routes, you will have access to modern amenities and boutique hotel comforts throughout the trip.

Can I climb Huayna Picchu?

Absolutely! This is a popular add-on for Day 2. It requires an additional permit that sells out very quickly. If you want to stand on the Sugarloaf peak overlooking the ruins, let us know immediately upon booking.
