Victor E. – Founder, Visionary, and Lead Guide
Victor was born in 1988 in a small village near Chinchero, one of the last remaining Inca towns. He was raised in an environment deeply immersed in Andean traditions. His parents, who were potato farmers, instilled in him a strong work ethic, a sense of community, and a deep respect for Pachamama (Mother Earth). From a young age, he observed visitors to Chinchero and developed a passion for sharing the beauty of his homeland with the world.
He pursued this dream by studying Tourism at the National University of Cusco, graduating with honors. For over a decade, Victor has worked with prominent travel companies, acquiring comprehensive expertise in the realm of adventure tourism. This encompasses a wide range of competencies, from orchestrating logistics for the Inca Trail to implementing sustainable tourism practices. In 2022, he established Qoricancha Expeditions with a clear mission: to provide authentic, sustainable, and affordable tours while supporting local communities. Victor continues to personally guide a number of our trips, offering his profound historical insight and a welcoming host presence.
Our Trekking Chefs: Culinary Magicians in the Andes
Imagine arriving at camp after a long day's hike to find fresh, homemade quinoa soup, grilled trout, or even a surprise cake baked at altitude. Our highly trained trekking chefs are at your service. They use locally sourced ingredients to prepare nutritious and flavorful meals designed to keep you energized throughout your adventure.
We are committed to meeting all dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free requirements, without compromising on taste or variety. From hearty breakfasts at dawn to comforting dinners under the stars, our meals are a highlight of every trek.
Our Logistics, Porters & Support Team – The Silent Heroes
Each successful excursion is built on a foundation of meticulous logistics and diligent behind-the-scenes preparation. Our drivers are highly skilled in navigating mountain roads safely and on time. Our porters, often referred to as the "superhumans of the Andes," are responsible for carrying camping equipment, setting up tents, and ensuring that campsites are comfortable and well-prepared for arrival each night.
In our Cusco office, our reservation and operations team works diligently to secure permits, arrange transport, and handle every detail so you can focus on enjoying your journey.
One Team, One Mission
We take pride in our 100% local ownership and our commitment to reinvesting in our community. We utilize tourism as a catalyst for positive change, engaging in initiatives such as mountain clean-up campaigns, tree-planting projects, and community library support.
When you travel with Qoricancha Expeditions, you're not just booking a trip, you're joining a team that prioritizes authentic experiences, environmental responsibility, and cultural respect.
