Our company name is derived from the Qoricancha, the "Temple of the Sun," a sacred Inca site that symbolizes our mission to guide our clients toward the brightest and most enriching adventures. History of Qoricancha Expeditions.

Qoricancha Expeditions was established in 2022, with Victor Escalante. at the helm. Victor E. is a licensed tourism professional with extensive experience in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Victor was raised in a small village near Chinchero, one of the few remaining living Inca towns, where traditions are alive and the landscapes are breathtaking. His parents were humble potato farmers who instilled in him the values of hard work, respect for nature, and the importance of community.
From a young age, Victor was inspired by the influx of travelers to Chinchero, fascinated by their interest in his culture and history. These experiences fueled his aspiration to showcase the splendor of his homeland to a global audience. He was determined to make it a reality, so he studied Tourism at the National University of Cusco. In this way, he gained a solid academic foundation while nurturing his love for storytelling and cultural preservation.

A New Chapter at Qoricancha Expeditions

In November 2025, Ronaldo Ccolqque acquired shares in Qoricancha Expeditions and has been the CEO and Co-Founder ever since.

Ronaldo studied Tourism Business Management at the National University of San Antonio Abad of Cusco, a leading tourism school in Peru. During his studies, he worked in the field, starting as a porter on the Inca Trail and later as a tour group coordinator. After five years on the Inca Trail, he gained a strong understanding of trekking logistics, traveler needs, safety and authentic cultural experiences.

Ronaldo also has over 10 years of experience with well-known tour operators in Cusco and across Peru, working in many areas of the tourism industry. This experience has helped him master all aspects of tour operations, including logistics, customer service, guide training and sustainable tourism.

Today, with Ronaldo leading the way, Qoricancha Expeditions follows a clear and simple philosophy:
