Places You Will Visit on the Cusco City Tour
Experience the perfect blend of Andean history and Spanish influence. On this guided Cusco city tour, you will explore five of the most significant archaeological sites and colonial monuments in Peru.
Cusco Cathedral: A Colonial Masterpiece Located in the heart of the Plaza de Armas, the Cusco Cathedral is a stunning example of colonial architecture built atop an Inca palace. Inside, you’ll discover the famous Cusco School of Painting, featuring the iconic Last Supper with a local twist, a roasted guinea pig (Cuy) on the table.
Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun) Once the most sacred site in the Inca Empire, Qorikancha was famously lined with solid gold. Today, you can witness the incredible precision of Inca masonry that forms the foundation of the Santo Domingo Convent, a fascinating display of cultural syncretism.
Sacsayhuaman: The Megalithic Fortress Marvel at the massive limestone blocks of Sacsayhuaman, some weighing over 100 tons, fitted together with such precision that not even a needle can pass between them. This hilltop site offers the best panoramic views of Cusco and serves as the stage for the annual Inti Raymi (Sun Festival).
Qenqo: The Mysterious Labyrinth Enter the Labyrinth of Qenqo, a unique ritual site carved directly into a natural rock formation. Explore the subterranean sacrifice chamber and mysterious altars where the Incas performed sacred ceremonies and mummification rituals.
Tambomachay: The Inca Water Temple Often called the Baths of the Inca, Tambomachay is a masterclass in hydraulic engineering. Discover sacred aqueducts and waterfalls that have been flowing perfectly for centuries, serving as a site for water worship and royal purification.

General Information
What is the difference between the Half-Day and Full-Day tours?
The Half-Day tour is a condensed, high-impact version of our itinerary. It focuses on the most iconic landmarks, the Cusco Cathedral, Koricancha, and the four major ruins including Sacsayhuaman. It is perfect for travelers with limited time or those who prefer a shorter excursion.
What are the daily departure times?
We offer two convenient shifts to fit your schedule. The Morning Shift typically begins with a pickup at 08:30 AM, returning you by lunchtime. The Afternoon Shift begins at 01:00 PM, allowing you to witness the Golden hour light over the Inca ruins before returning for dinner.
Is transportation included for the half-day option?
Yes. Even on the shorter circuit, you will have a private executive vehicle and professional chauffeur at your disposal. This ensures you move efficiently between sites without the wait times associated with group buses.
Details
Logistics & Sightseeing
Which archaeological sites will we visit?
This focused circuit includes the Cusco Cathedral, the Temple of the Sun (Koricancha), and the Ruins on the city outskirts: Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay.
Are entrance tickets included in the half-day price?
Yes. To ensure a seamless experience, we pre-purchase your Cusco Tourist Ticket (Boleto Turístico) as well as individual entries for the Cathedral and Koricancha. You will never have to wait in line at a ticket office.
How much walking should I expect?
The physical demand is low. While there is some walking involved to explore the interiors of the temples and the stone pathways of the ruins, your private vehicle will drop you off very close to each entrance. The pace is entirely dictated by your comfort level.
Health & Preparation
Is the half-day tour better for altitude acclimatization?
The half-day tour is an excellent choice for your first afternoon in Cusco. It provides a gentle introduction to the elevation, keeping physical exertion to a minimum while still allowing you to see the city's highlights.
Do I need to bring snacks?
Since this tour does not include a full sit-down lunch like the Full-Day version, we recommend bringing a small water bottle and a light snack. However, your guide can always make a brief stop if you’d like to pick up something local along the way.
Can I book a private guide for just my family?
Absolutely. All of our half-day tours are 100% private. This means you will not be joined by strangers, and your guide can tailor the storytelling to the interests of your specific group or family.
