Qoricancha Expeditions is a locally owned, 100% Peruvian tour operator based in Cusco, founded by people born and raised in the Andes we explore daily.
We are more than just a travel company. We are storytellers, mountain guides, and cultural hosts with a deep connection to our land. Our team includes experienced local professionals who grew up among these mountains, valleys, and ancient Inca archaeological sites. This gives us a perspective that goes far beyond traditional tourism.
With years of hands-on experience in trekking, cultural guiding, and high-altitude travel, we ensure every journey is memorable, safe, seamless, and deeply authentic.

How Qoricancha Expeditions was Founded
Qoricancha Expeditions was founded in 2022 by Victor Escalante, a licensed tourism professional from a small village near Chinchero, one of the last living Inca towns in the Andes.
Surrounded by mountains, traditions, and a strong sense of community, Victor developed a deep connection to nature and culture early in life. Seeing travelers visit his hometown inspired his desire to share the beauty and history of his heritage with others.
Motivated by this passion, he earned a degree in Tourism from the National University of Cusco, gaining the knowledge and skills to realize his vision.
Today, Qoricancha Expeditions brings this vision to life by offering experiences that go beyond sightseeing and help travelers connect with the authentic spirit of the Andes through meaningful, locally guided journeys.
A New Chapter in Leadership and Experience
In 2025, Ronaldo Ccolqque joined Qoricancha Expeditions as Co-Founder and CEO, bringing more than a decade of hands-on experience in Peruvian tourism.
Ronaldo holds a degree in Tourism specializing in customer service and travel operations. His journey began authentically as a porter on the Inca Trail from 2005 to 2012. This gave him a deep understanding of the physical demands, logistics, and human side of trekking in the Andes.
He later worked as a group coordinator for companies like SAS Travel, gaining extensive operational experience on major routes to Machu Picchu. Over time, he developed strong skills in logistics, team coordination, and delivering high-quality travel experiences.
After moving into office roles, Ronaldo expanded his expertise in business management, operations, and leadership, gaining the skills to run a successful tourism company.
In November 2025, after years of experience at every level of the industry, he decided to acquire shares in Qoricancha Expeditions and take a leading role in shaping its future.

Under Ronaldo’s leadership, Qoricancha Expeditions has undergone a complete transformation:

- Strengthened all legal permits and trekking licenses, including those for the Inca Trail
