Take your time to absorb the awe-inspiring beauty and magic that the New Wonder of the World has to offer. Your guide will then lead you on a comprehensive walking tour, exploring the most significant sectors and palaces within Machu Picchu. This guided tour typically lasts about 2 and a half hours.
Upon completing the tour, if you have secured a Huayna Picchu ticket, you’ll have the option to hike this renowned mountain. Day 3: Moray, Maras Salt Mines & Chinchero Traditions
Our Tour begins with a pickup at 8 am from your hotel in Ollantaytambo. Our first stop will be the renowned Ollantaytambo Inca site. Your guide will lead you on a guided tour, providing fascinating insights into this ancient site. You’ll have approximately 1 hour to explore its historical treasures.
Next on our journey is Moray, famous for its enigmatic circular terraces that served as a farming laboratory for the Incas. These terraces, adapted for crops at various elevations, offer a unique connection to Pachamama, Mother Earth. Surrounding Moray are extensive potato farming areas. Depending on the season of your visit, you’ll have the opportunity to witness the agricultural process in action.
We’ll then visit the mesmerizing salt mines of Maras, which are the only ones of their kind still in operation today. The salt mines are a testament to ancient Inca ingenuity and continue to produce high-quality salt.
Our journey continues to Chinchero, where we’ll explore a weaving center and learn about the intricate textile production process employed by our ancestors. You’ll gain insights into the skills, tools, and vibrant colors used in creating beautiful textiles. This is an excellent opportunity to shop for souvenirs. In Chinchero, we’ll also visit an Inca site, a colonial-era church, and take in the charming atmosphere of this historical village.
Finally, we’ll return to Cusco, where you’ll be back in the city by 5 pm. We’ll drop you off at your hotel, allowing you some evening leisure time to explore the main plaza of Cusco. This day offers a diverse and enriching exploration of the cultural and historical wonders of the region.

Day 4: Sacsayhuaman, Pisac Ruins & Tipon Water Temples
Our journey begins with a hotel pickup at 8 am in Cusco. Today, you will have the opportunity to visit three remarkable Inca sites, each with its unique charm and significance.
Our first stop takes us to Sacsayhuaman, a site that served as a religious and administrative center during the Inca era. Sacsayhuaman is unparalleled, even when compared to the grandeur of Machu Picchu. Your knowledgeable guide will provide you with a comprehensive tour of the site, sharing its history and significance. Additionally, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of Cusco city from this vantage point.
As we continue our journey to Pisac, we’ll have a chance to visit an Alpaca farm along the way. Here, you’ll have the delightful opportunity to observe South American camelids such as llamas, alpacas, guanacos, and vicuñas. The farm also provides insights into the textile production process, both in ancient times and today.
Next, we arrive in Pisac, a popular destination in the Sacred Valley. Your guided walking tour of Pisac will offer fascinating insights into agriculture, and you’ll have the opportunity to explore the Inca site, which is situated on a hill. This experience will deepen your understanding of the agricultural practices of our ancestors.
Continuing our journey in our comfortable transportation, we’ll head to Tipon. This Inca site showcases the ingenious hydraulic system developed by our ancestors. The site features a network of water channels connecting various terraces, ensuring the efficient irrigation of farming areas.
After immersing ourselves in the marvels of Tipon, we’ll return to Cusco city, where we’ll drop you off at your hotel. This day offers a diverse exploration of the cultural, historical, and natural wonders of the region, leaving you with lasting memories.

Prepare for an exhilarating day! Our experienced guide will pick you up from your hotel at 4 am. We’ll embark on a journey that will take us on a roughly 3-hour drive to the trailhead. Along the way, we’ll stop for a nourishing breakfast to energize you for the adventure ahead.
Upon reaching the trailhead at an elevation of 4,350 meters, we’ll prepare ourselves for the hike. This region is known for its cold and dry conditions, so it’s important to dress warmly and be prepared for the hike. The trek itself covers approximately 4 kilometers and lasts for about 2.5 hours, leading us to the breathtaking summit of Rainbow Mountain, also known as Winikunqa. This natural wonder is perched at an astonishing altitude of 5,150 meters above sea level.
Once at the summit, you’ll have ample time to soak in the awe-inspiring beauty of this unique place and capture unforgettable photographs. The vibrant colors of Rainbow Mountain are a sight to behold.
But the adventure doesn’t stop here. We’ll continue our hike to explore the Red Valley, situated on the backside of Rainbow Mountain. From the higher vantage point, you’ll be treated to a panoramic view of this remarkable all-red valley.
After savoring the wonders of both Rainbow Mountain and the Red Valley, we’ll retrace our steps along the same trail, leading us back to where our driver awaits. We’ll then enjoy a scenic 50-minute drive to a restaurant, where a delicious and well-deserved lunch awaits.
Following our satisfying meal, we’ll return to Cusco, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel. You can expect to arrive back in Cusco at approximately 5:50 pm. This day promises an unforgettable adventure filled with stunning natural landscapes and lasting memories.
