Upon your arrival at Lima International Airport, our representative will be waiting for you at the international exit gate with a sign bearing your name. You’ll be transferred directly to your hotel in Miraflores, where you can relax and unwind after your flight. There are no tours scheduled for this afternoon, giving you time to settle in and explore the area at your own pace if you wish.

Day 02: Rainforest EXPLORER 4D3N

River journey to Tambopata Ecolodge.

You will need a flight Lima to Puerto Maldonado – make sure to book early flight which land before 1pm in Puerto Maldonado.

In the jungle town of Puerto Maldonado, as you begin your ecotourism adventure you will be met from your flight by our staff, who will escort you during the fascinating 68-kilometer road and boat trip along the Tambopata River to our Ecolodge (23 km by vehicle, 45 km by boat). Once we leave Puerto Maldonado behind, the forest vegetation will change from colonized deforested areas to virgin rainforest. Time spent on rivers is one of the highlights of any trip to a tropical forest ecosystem, offering the opportunity to observe native flora and look out for examples of Amazon fauna, with the help of one of our experienced naturalist guides. A box lunch will be served aboard our boat. After time to settle in your eco-lodge accommodation, your naturalist guide will invite you to explore the trails in the surrounding forest. Several giant brazil nut trees are located along these trails, while frequently seen fauna includes brown capuchin monkeys, agoutis, blue-morpho butterflies, trogons, toucans and other bird species. In the evening, a slideshow presentation will give you a thorough introduction to the many wonders of the rainforest. After an excellent buffet-style dinner, another guided trail walk in the forest will offer the chance to spot the world’s only nocturnal monkey species, as well as learning about the Amazon’s insects, while enjoying the unique sounds of the nighttime forest.

Day 03: Forest trails and wetlands

Following an excellent buffet breakfast and a short morning boat ride, we will set out along a forest trail to explore Condenado oxbow lake by canoe. Swathed in rich tropical vegetation, wetlands are among the best places in the forest for birdwatching and the observation of a variety of aquatic and terrestrial fauna. Continuing our trail walk, tree species include the strangler fig tree and the mighty kapok, which rises high above the forest canopy. Back at the Ecolodge, after a superb buffet lunch in our restaurant, there will be free time for independent walks on our extensive trail system, exploring our gardens, or bathing in our nearby swimming hole, where the clear cool waters of Gallocunca stream can be enjoyed. Or you can simply choose to relax in a hammock on the porch of your cabin. Following a buffet dinner, your guide will give a presentation on the species of caiman found in the forests of Tambopata, after which we will take to the river in search of caimans and other nocturnal rainforest species that fill the tropical forest night air with their sounds.

Day 04: Deeper into the forest

Today, we will venture much further into the forest to visit the wetland ecosystem around Lake Sachavacayoc. After a short trip downriver by boat, we will access this lake via a long, fascinating forest trail, crossing streams and marshy ground via raised wooden walkways and bridges. Among the tree species seen on this trail are the capirona, strangler fig and palo santo, as well as bamboo, and several varieties of palm tree. The forests around this beautiful oxbow lake teem with birdlife, and the waters are home to black caiman and the magnificent green anaconda. Visitors to this lake may also be fortunate enough to spot the rare Amazon giant river otter. The lake comes to life as we paddle across the water for around an hour, before heading back to the river via a different trail, with our naturalist guide on the lookout for interesting species. Capuchin and squirrel monkeys are commonly seen on these trails. Back at the Ecolodge in the later afternoon, you will have time to relax in a hammock or take a refreshing dip in nearby Gallocunca stream. After a delicious buffet-style dinner, there will be time in the evening to get to know other Ecolodge guests in the bar and lounge.

Day 05: Morning river journey and flight to Cusco

Your stay in the Amazon forest ends on this fourth day with a magical morning return by river for your flight from Puerto Maldonado. This is an excellent time of day for wildlife observation, as the forest awakens, and looking out for rainforest fauna from our boat with the help of your naturalist guide is the perfect way to bid farewell to Peru’s tropical forests.

IMPORTANT: Please confirm your flight departure details (airline, flight number, estimated arrival time) so our team can arrange your airport drop-off accordingly. Your flight from Puerto Maldonado to Cusco should be in the afternoon, after 13:00 hrs.

In the afternoon, we will welcome you at the Cusco airport upon arrival ready to take you straight to your hotel accommodation.

No tours will be arranged for this afternoon. However, your mandatory Welcome briefing session will take place at 18:00 hrs.

Day 06:- Sacred Valley Tour

Your day will start with a pick-up from your hotel at 8 am. The Sacred Valley of the Incas is a remarkable place, characterized by its stunning Quechua-speaking communities, towering mountain ranges, and fertile valleys. Your visit to the Sacred Valley will encompass several fascinating destinations.

Your first stop will be at an Alpaca farm, where you’ll have the unique opportunity to see four of South America’s camelids: Llamas, Alpacas, Vicuñas, and Guanacos. Your guide will provide insights into how these animals were of great importance during the time of the Incas and continue to be significant today.

Next, you’ll visit the impressive archaeological site of Pisaq. Here, you’ll encounter a complex system of terraces and other intriguing features that showcase the advanced engineering skills of the Incas. Following your exploration of Pisaq, you’ll head to Ollantaytambo, a captivating site known for its remarkable rock formations that represent the Inca god Wirachocha. This archaeological site is a testament to the ingenuity of the Incas and their mastery of stonework.

Throughout the day, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of the Sacred Valley while enjoying the breathtaking natural scenery. Your guide will provide you with valuable insights and information to enhance your experience.

Day 07: Start Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.

Today marks the beginning of your Inca Trail adventure. You’ll embark on an unforgettable journey that will take you through the heart of the Andes along the original Inca Trail, which was once used by Inca rulers and their entourages to reach Machu Picchu.

The day’s hike will cover approximately 14 kilometers, providing you with stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. The terrain is mostly gradual, allowing you to acclimate to the altitude as you walk. Along the trail, you’ll encounter various Inca archaeological sites, and your guide will share their historical and cultural significance.

A delicious lunch will be served at the halfway point, providing you with the energy needed to continue your trek. By around 4:30 pm, you’ll arrive at the designated campsite, where you’ll set up for the night. This first day on the Inca Trail will be both exhilarating and educational, offering you a taste of the beauty and history that lies ahead on your journey to Machu Picchu.

Day 08: Inca Trail - challenge day

Continuing along the Inca Trail, you’ll encounter the most challenging day of your journey. Today, your path will lead you to the highest point of the trail, which stands at an elevation of 4,215 meters above sea level. While this ascent may be demanding, the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the Warmiwañusca’s (Dead Woman’s) mountain pass will make it all worthwhile. This challenging day will test your stamina and determination, but the sense of accomplishment and the stunning vistas will make the effort truly rewarding.

Day 09: Inca Trail - the most amazing day.

As you near Machu Picchu, excitement is sure to be building within you. Today’s hike will take you through one of the most beautiful sections of the entire Inca Trail. You’ll pass through a lush cloud forest, catch glimpses of the sacred Apu Salkantay, and explore the impressive archaeological site of Phuyupatamarca, which translates to “Town in the Clouds.” you’ll also encounter Intipata, another fascinating Inca site. This part of the trail not only offers stunning natural beauty but also a rich cultural experience as you delve into the history and significance of the sites you encounter along the way.

Finally, you’ll arrive at the Wiñaywayna campsite and have the opportunity to visit the renowned Inca site of Wiñaywayna. This site is famous for its terraces and historical significance, making it a must-see along the trail.

In the evening, you’ll share your last dinner with the trekking porters and have the chance to express your appreciation with tips. It’s a time to reflect on the incredible journey you’ve undertaken together before resting up for the final day of hiking to Machu Picchu.

Day 10: Visit Machu Picchu and back to Cusco

The most anticipated day of your Inca Trail adventure has finally arrived! Today, you will reach the magnificent site of Machu Picchu, the crown jewel of your journey. Before you arrive at Machu Picchu, you will have the opportunity to enjoy your last views of the surrounding mountain ranges, adding a final touch of natural beauty to your adventure.

As you approach Machu Picchu, you will first catch sight of it from the Sun Gate, which offers a stunning panoramic view of the ancient citadel. This moment will mark the culmination of your incredible journey along the Inca Trail.

After your guided visit to Machu Picchu and a chance to explore its awe-inspiring architecture and history, it will be time to begin your return journey. You’ll leave this iconic site with unforgettable memories and head back to Cusco, marking the end of your most memorable adventure in Peru.

Day 11: Rainbow Mountain tour & Red Valley.

Your adventure continues today with a visit to the famous Rainbow Mountain. Your day will start early, with a pick-up from your hotel at 4:30 AM. You’ll embark on a roughly 2.5-hour drive to the trailhead, where you will have a chance to enjoy breakfast before beginning your hike.

The hike to Rainbow Mountain will take approximately 2 hours as you ascend the mountain. If you find the hike challenging, there’s also the option to hire a horse – simply let your guide know if you need this assistance. Upon reaching the summit of Rainbow Mountain, you will have ample time to soak in the breathtaking scenery, take photographs, and capture videos of this incredible natural wonder.

After thoroughly enjoying Rainbow Mountain, you will retrace your steps, hiking back down to the trailhead, where our driver will be waiting for you. From there, it will be about a 30-minute drive to enjoy a well-deserved lunch. Afterward, you’ll embark on a 2-hour drive back to Cusco, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel, concluding your exciting day of adventure.

Day 12: Traveling from Cusco to Puno (Sun Route)

This full-day journey from Cusco to Puno takes you along the Sun Route (Ruta del Sol), offering a unique opportunity to explore Peru’s rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes. Starting early with a 6:20 AM pick-up, you’ll be transferred to the bus station for a scenic drive through the highlands, with fascinating stops along the way.

You’ll visit the Andahuaylillas Church, often called the “Sistine Chapel of the Andes”, the Raqchi archaeological site, and cross the La Raya Pass at an altitude of 4,335 meters, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Andes. A stop at the Pukara Lithic Museum allows you to explore pre-Inca artifacts.

Arriving in Puno by 5:30 PM, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel, ready to rest before continuing your adventure on Lake Titicaca.

Day 13. Full Day Lake Titicaca Tour.
