Itinerary

Day 1: Start the Classic Inca Trail Trek to Machu picchu.

Your adventure is about to begin, and it promises to be an incredible experience! Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 4:30 AM to ensure an early start to the day's journey. The first part of the adventure will involve a 2-hour drive to Ollantaytambo, where you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious breakfast.

Following breakfast, the journey will continue for approximately 40 minutes in your transportation to reach km 82, which serves as the trailhead for the Inca Trail hike. Before you begin your trek, your guide will introduce you to the team that will accompany you on this adventure, including the chef and porters. It's essential to note that the Inca Trail is a team effort, and you'll be treated like family by your support crew.

At this point, you'll hand over your duffle bag to the porters, and you'll only need to carry your daypack as you embark on the trail. As you approach the checkpoint, be sure to have your original passport with you, as the park rangers will need to verify your personal information.

Once you've cleared the checkpoint, you'll find yourself on the royal path, which is rich in natural beauty and Inca history. Your guide will provide you with detailed information about the flora, fauna, and historical sites you encounter along the way. You'll have the freedom to walk at your own pace, with plenty of breaks for snacks, photography, and taking in the surroundings. Lunch will be served at a midpoint on the trail around 1:30 PM. After this meal, additional water will be provided to refill your water bottles. The journey will then continue to the final campsite at Huayllabamba, located at an elevation of 3,350 meters (10,990 feet), which is the same elevation as Cusco city.

Upon arriving at the campsite, your dedicated team will set up your tent. They will also provide you with warm water in small containers for washing, along with a small towel and soap. After settling in, you can enjoy tea time, and dinner is typically served around 7:30 PM.

With the first day of your Inca Trail adventure complete, you'll have the chance to rest and prepare for the following day's journey.

Day 2: Feel the adveture of the Inca Trail

The second day of your Inca Trail adventure is about to begin, and it will be both challenging and rewarding. Your day will start with a 5:00 AM wake-up call, where you'll be greeted with a hot cup of coca tea. This traditional drink is known for helping to alleviate the symptoms of altitude sickness, making it a perfect way to start your day in the high mountains.

After waking up and enjoying your tea, you'll have some time to pack your daypack, organize your belongings, and prepare for the day ahead. Breakfast will be served, along with snacks and water to keep you energized during the hike. By 7:00 AM, you'll be ready to hit the trail. The path will lead you uphill, with a gradual ascent through a beautiful valley. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to see some of the oldest trees in the region, including Queñas and Uncas, which are typical of this ecosystem. As you continue on your journey, you'll enter the highland forest, where you'll encounter unique flora and fauna that make this area special. After approximately 4 hours of hiking, you'll reach the Llulluchapampa campsite, where your chef will be ready to serve you a delicious lunch.

Following lunch, you'll face another 2 hours of uphill hiking as you make your way to the highest point of the day, Dead Woman's Pass, situated at an elevation of 4,200 meters (13,780 feet) above sea level. Here, you'll have the chance to take in breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and capture some memorable photographs. Once you've enjoyed the views and rested at Dead Woman's Pass, you'll begin your descent. The trail will lead you downhill to the Pacaymayu Alto campsite, situated at an elevation of 3,650 meters (11,975 feet). Upon arrival at the campsite, your tent will be ready for you to settle in.

To warm up and relax, you'll have a happy hour with hot drinks. Dinner will be served around 7 PM, and after a long day of hiking, most trekkers tend to turn in early. With the fresh mountain air and the physical exertion of the hike,

Day 3: The Amaizng day of Inca Trail (Cloud forest área).

The third day of your Inca Trail adventure promises to be unique and captivating as you immerse yourself in diverse ecosystems and encounter the natural beauty of the Andes. This day stands out due to the opportunity to observe an array of stunning flowers, particularly orchids. Machu Picchu and its surroundings are home to around 135 different types of orchids, and you'll have the chance to see many of them during your hike.

Your day will begin with an early breakfast to fuel your energy for the journey ahead. The trail will lead you uphill once more, with the first section of the hike lasting approximately 2 hours. Along this path, you'll come across the Runcuracay, a small Inca site. Your guide will provide you with insights and information about this historical site, allowing you to explore its significance.

Following this exploration, you'll continue the ascent for about 1 hour to reach the summit, which is the second-highest point of the entire hike. From this vantage point, you'll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

After enjoying the views, you'll begin the descent, which will last for approximately 1.5 hours. This part of the trail will lead you to the Sayacmarka Inca site, renowned for its exceptional beauty. Your guide will provide you with a guided tour of this site, giving you the opportunity to learn more about its historical significance. As you continue your journey, you'll venture into the cloud forest, where the scenery changes, the weather becomes warmer, and the presence of mosquitoes becomes noticeable. Here, you'll encounter a different set of flora and fauna, further enriching your hiking experience.

Around midday, you'll pause for a well-deserved lunch, providing you with the energy needed for the remainder of the day's hike. The next section of the trail, lasting approximately 2 hours, will take you to Phuyupatamarka. From this vantage point, you'll have stunning views of Machu Picchu Mountain and the town of Aguas Calientes. This indicates that you are now in close proximity to the lost city of the Incas.

From this point onward, the trail is primarily downhill, with many stairs to navigate. Using trekking poles can be quite helpful during this section, which takes approximately 3.5 hours. Your destination is the final campsite, Wiñayhuana, situated at an elevation of 2,650 meters (8,694 feet) above sea level. This will be your last night camping on the trail, and it will be a memorable one as you prepare to reach Machu Picchu the following day.

Day 04: Machu Picchu Citadel and back to Cusco.

The most important day of your Inca Trail adventure has arrived, as you'll finally get to explore the magnificent Machu Picchu! The day begins with an early wake-up call at 3:30 am, followed by breakfast at 4 am. By 5:30 am, you'll be at the checkpoint, your group will begin the walk to the famous Sun Gate, also known as Inti Punku. This iconic spot is exclusive to Inca Trail hikers and offers a stunning view of Machu Picchu. Arriving around 6:30 am will give you the opportunity to witness the sunrise over Machu Picchu, a truly unique and magical experience.

After taking in the breathtaking sunrise and capturing memorable photos, you'll continue your hike for about 40 minutes, gradually descending until you reach the Machu Picchu citadel. As you arrive at the citadel, you'll have ample time to explore and take postcard-worthy pictures. Your experienced guide will lead you on a guided tour of Machu Picchu, which typically lasts about 3 hours. During this time, you'll visit the most important sites within the citadel and gain a deeper understanding of its history and significance.

Once you've completed your guided tour of Machu Picchu, you'll have the option to bid farewell to the citadel and return to Aguas Calientes or, if you've booked tickets in advance, you can embark on a hike to Huayna Picchu, the iconic mountain that overlooks Machu Picchu. This hike takes about 2 hours to complete, and only a limited number of daily tickets are available (50 spots), so it's essential to book these tickets in advance. There is an additional cost of $75 per ticket.

After you've finished your visit to Machu Picchu and, if applicable, your hike to Huayna Picchu, you'll take a bus back to Aguas Calientes town. There, you'll enjoy your last lunch as a group (please note that lunch is not included in the tour price). In the afternoon, you'll board the train, typically around 3 pm, for the journey back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival at Ollantaytambo, our driver will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco, with an estimated arrival time of 7:30 pm. It's a fitting end to an incredible journey along the Inca Trail.

Rainbow Mountain tour & Red Valley

Your Rainbow Mountain adventure begins with an early start. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 4 am. From there, you'll embark on a journey to Cusipata,  Upon arriving in Cusipata, you'll have a hearty breakfast to fuel up for the hike ahead.

After breakfast, you'll continue your journey for approximately 1 more hour until you reach the trailhead, which is situated at an elevation of 4,300 meters (14,107 feet). At this point, you'll prepare for your hike, and your guide will provide guidance based on the current weather conditions. If you have any extra belongings that you don't need for the hike, you can leave them in the van, ensuring you carry only the essentials.

The hike itself begins with a gradual ascent, taking roughly 2 hours at a slow and comfortable pace. As you make your way to the summit of the mountain, you'll be rewarded with stunning views of Rainbow Mountain and its surroundings. This vantage point offers a unique and impressive perspective, providing you with ample time to soak in the beauty, capture photographs, and record videos.

Following your visit to Rainbow Mountain, you'll continue your hike to the Red Valley. The trail here is also gradual, taking around 45 minutes to reach the upper part of the mountain, where you'll be treated to the best views of the Red Valley. Since not all tour groups venture to this area, you'll likely encounter fewer people, allowing you to fully enjoy the scenery. You'll have plenty of time to appreciate the breathtaking landscapes.

After exploring the Red Valley, you'll return to the trailhead, where your driver will be waiting to transport you back to Cusipata. Here, you'll savor a delicious lunch to replenish your energy. Following lunch, you'll commence your journey back to Cusco, which takes approximately 2 hours. You can expect to arrive back in Cusco by 5 pm, and your guide will drop you off at your hotel. It will be a memorable and fulfilling day filled with natural wonders and captivating views.
