Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Cusco city + Cusco city tour.

Upon your arrival at Cusco Airport, our friendly representative will be ready to welcome you. They will accompany you to the heart of Cusco city, where your hotel is located. Cusco, nestled at an altitude of 3,350 meters, is known for its high elevation. To help you acclimate, we recommend enjoying a cup of Coca tea at your hotel, which can assist in preventing altitude sickness.

Hotel check-in typically begins at 12 pm. If you arrive luggage earlier, you can take advantage of the hotel's complimentary storage service. This will give you the freedom to explore the city and enjoy lunch at one of the many restaurants around the Main Plaza of Cusco.

At 1 pm, your Cusco city tour begins, encompassing visits to significant sites within the city as well as Inca sites situated in the upper part of Cusco city. The Main Plaza of Cusco is the customary starting point for this tour, and it's an astonishing place to begin your journey.

Next on the itinerary is the renowned Qoricancha, the heart of the Inca Empire and the place where our civilization took root. Exploring this site will provide you with invaluable insights into our rich history.

Following your time at Qoricancha, our transportation will take you to the next Inca site, Sacsayhuaman. This site is the largest and most unique among the stops on this tour. It boasts distinctive features that set it apart, making it even different from Machu Picchu. You'll have ample time to immerse yourself in its grandeur and explore its mysteries.

Continuing our journey, you'll visit Qenqo, Pucapucara, and Tambomachay. These smaller sites held significant roles during the Inca era, and each has its own unique charm. Our expert guide will provide you with in-depth information about each location and capture the best photographic moments.

As the tour concludes, you'll return to the town by 6 pm, where we'll drop you off at your hotel. This day will provide you with an excellent introduction to the cultural and historical wonders of Cusco, setting the stage for a memorable journey in the heart of the Andes.

Our journey begins with a hotel pickup at 8 am, and from there, we embark on a memorable adventure. We'll leave Cusco behind in our private transportation and make our first stop at an Alpaca farm. Here, you'll have the delightful opportunity to get up close to four unique South American camelids: llamas, alpacas, guanacos, and vicuñas. These animals held immense importance in the lives of our ancestors, and your guide will explain the distinctions between each of them.

Continuing on our route, we head to Pisac, a place that served as the capital of corn and potato cultivation during ancient times. Depending on the season, you'll witness the farming areas in action. Upon reaching the Pisac Inca site, we'll embark on a walking tour, exploring the renowned circular Andean terraces, ancient rooms, and intricate water fountains. Pisac is one of the largest Inca sites in the Sacred Valley, and you'll be captivated by its beauty.

After immersing ourselves in the history and grandeur of Pisac, we'll return to the town, where you'll have the opportunity to visit the local market. This market preserves the tradition of product exchange and is an excellent place to shop for souvenirs if you wish.

Our journey continues with a scenic drive of nearly an hour to Urubamba, where we'll pause for a delightful lunch. Following our meal, we'll drive for another 30 minutes to reach Ollantaytambo, known as the last living Inca city. Here, you'll explore a remarkable Inca archaeological site during a guided tour. It will take approximately an hour to uncover the historical significance of this site.

After the tour, you'll have free time to stroll through the charming local village. In the evening, you'll board the train to Aguas Calientes, a town situated at 2,000 meters above sea level, where you'll spend the night. Take your time to absorb the awe-inspiring beauty and magic that the New Wonder of the World has to offer. Your guide will then lead you on a comprehensive walking tour, exploring the most significant sectors and palaces within Machu Picchu. This guided tour typically lasts about 2 and a half hours.

Upon completing the tour, if you have secured a Huayna Picchu ticket, you'll have the option to hike this renowned mountain. Once we reach the trailhead, situated at an elevation of 4,350 meters, it's time to prepare and start our hike. The region is known for its cold and dry climate due to the high altitude, so make sure to dress warmly and be ready for the adventure. The trek is approximately 4 kilometers long, lasting nearly 2.5 hours, as we ascend to the summit of Rainbow Mountain, also known as Winikunqa, which stands at an impressive 5,150 meters above sea level.

Upon reaching the summit, you'll have ample time to savor the breathtaking beauty of this natural wonder and capture memorable photographs. The vibrant colors of Rainbow Mountain are truly a sight to behold.

Following our meal, we'll continue on a 1-hour drive along a dusty road to Soraypampa, situated at an elevation of 3,850 meters. Due to the high altitude, this area can be quite chilly, so be sure to layer up with warm clothing, gloves, and a hat.

Once we're all set and ready, our journey begins with a 2-hour ascent, gradually leading us to the beautiful Humantay Lake.
