Here, you'll have the opportunity to see four South American camelids: Llamas, Alpacas, Guanacos, and Vicuñas. These animals held great importance for our ancestors, and your guide will explain the differences between each of them.

Next, you'll continue to Pisac, a place known as the capital of corn and potatoes. Depending on the season, you may have the chance to see the farming area. Once at the Pisac Inca site, you'll embark on a walking tour, exploring the famous circular Andean terraces, rooms, and water fountains. This site is one of the largest in the Sacred Valley, and you'll have the opportunity to appreciate its beauty.

After exploring Pisac, you'll head back to Pisac town, where you can visit the local market. This market is a typical one where the local population still practices the exchange of products. It's a great place to shop for souvenirs if you're interested.

Following your market visit, you'll continue driving for approximately an hour until you reach Urubamba. Here, you'll stop for lunch, enjoying a delicious meal. Afterward, you'll continue driving for another 30 minutes to Ollantaytambo, known as the last living Inca city. This beautiful place is home to an impressive Inca archaeological site, where you'll have a guided tour. Exploring this site takes about an hour, during which you'll learn about its historical importance.

Day 3: Hike short Inca Trail to Machu picchu.

The adventure begins early in the morning at 5:45 AM when we pick you up from your hotel. You'll take a short walk to the train station, where we'll board the train to km 104, the starting point of the Short Inca Trail. At this checkpoint, you'll need to show your original passport and get it stamped if you wish.

After getting ready for the hike, you'll begin your journey. The trail starts with a visit to the Chacabamba Inca site, which is located at the beginning of the hike. Here, you'll have a guided tour to learn about its history. Then, you'll continue walking. The first section involves a gradual uphill climb that lasts for about 3.5 hours. Along the way, there will be several stops where you can enjoy the breathtaking views, take photos, and have some snacks. This part of the trail passes through a cloud forest, where you can spot various exotic flowers, especially orchids, and observe hummingbirds.

As you hike further, you'll arrive at the incredible Inca site of Wiñay Wayna, often referred to as a small Machu Picchu. You'll have a guided tour of this remarkable site and some free time to explore and appreciate its uniqueness. Afterward, you'll enjoy lunch.

Following lunch, you'll have about an hour of hiking left to reach the Sun Gate (Inti Punku). This gate is exclusive to Inca Trail hikers and provides a spectacular view of Machu Picchu. Typically, you'll arrive at the Sun Gate around 2 PM, which is a perfect time to enjoy the afternoon views of the citadel and potentially witness the sunset.

From the Sun Gate, you'll have another hour of gradual downhill hiking until you reach the Machu Picchu citadel itself. The trail leads you directly to the upper part of Machu Picchu, offering the best panoramic views of the archaeological site. You'll have ample time to enjoy these incredible views, take photos, and explore the area.

Afterward, you'll take a bus down to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you'll spend the night. Upon arriving at your hotel, you can freshen up with a shower, and then you'll have dinner at a local restaurant to conclude your day of adventure.

You'll have ample time to explore and revel in the magnificence of this new wonder of the world.

Following this awe-inspiring experience, your guide will commence a walking tour, during which you'll visit the most important sectors and palaces within Machu Picchu. This guided tour typically lasts around 2.5 hours and will provide you with in-depth insights into the history and significance of each part of Machu Picchu.

After concluding the tour, you'll have the option to hike the famous Huayna Picchu mountain.
